You’ve got your shiny new professional email set up with Hostinger. Maybe it’s yourname@yourbusiness.co.uk, or hello@yourbrand.com.

Either way, it looks far more credible than the old Gmail or Yahoo address you were using for business. Well done on the upgrade.

Now the slightly less fun part. Actually logging in and getting your email working on your phone, laptop and across the tools you already use.

If the idea of servers, IMAP, SMTP and port numbers makes your eyes glaze over, you’re in the right place.

This guide walks you through every way to access your Hostinger professional email in plain English, with no assumed technical knowledge. By the end, you’ll have your email working exactly where you want it.

One important thing worth flagging upfront. A few major changes happened in January 2026 that affect how you access your Hostinger email, particularly through Gmail on a computer and through the new version of Outlook.

Most of the guides floating around online were written before these changes, which is why so many business owners end up frustrated when old instructions no longer work. This guide is current as of April 2026 and covers exactly what works now and what doesn’t.

Quick Answer

The fastest way to access your Hostinger email is webmail. Open your browser, go to mail.hostinger.com, enter your full email address and password, and you’re in. No setup, no configuration, works on any device with internet. Bookmark the page and you’re sorted.

Want to set it up on your phone, use Gmail or Outlook instead? Keep reading.

Who This Guide Is For

This guide is written for business owners, freelancers and professionals who use Hostinger for their email and would rather not spend their afternoon reading technical documentation.

If you can send a text message and open a browser, you can follow this guide. We’ve deliberately avoided jargon, and where technical terms are unavoidable, we explain them first.

What You’ll Need Before You Start

Before trying any of the methods below, make sure you have the following to hand:

  1. Your full email address. The complete address, such as yourname@yourbusiness.co.uk, not just the part before the @ symbol.
  2. Your email password. This is the password that was created when your Hostinger email account was set up. If Gen6ixx or another agency set up your email, this will have been shared with you in your handover documentation.
  3. The device you want to use. A phone, laptop, tablet, or all three. Different methods suit different devices.
  4. A few minutes of uninterrupted time. Setting up an email client properly takes about five to ten minutes. Setting it up in a rush is how small mistakes turn into hours of troubleshooting.

If you can’t remember your password, don’t panic. Go to mail.hostinger.com, click the “Forgot password” link on the login screen, and follow the steps to reset it. You’ll need access to a recovery email or your Hostinger account.

Method 1: Webmail (The Easiest Option)

If you only remember one method from this guide, make it this one. Webmail is the simplest way to access your Hostinger email, and honestly, it’s all many small business owners ever need.

Why webmail is worth starting with:

There’s nothing to install. No settings to configure. It works on any device with a browser, whether you’re on your laptop, your phone, or borrowing a colleague’s computer for ten minutes. It also gives you the full feature set of Hostinger Mail without any risk of mis configuring anything.

How to log in to Hostinger webmail

Step 1. Open your internet browser. Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge, it doesn’t matter which.

Step 2. In the address bar at the top, type: mail.hostinger.com

[SCREENSHOT: Hostinger webmail login page showing the email and password fields]

Step 3. You’ll see a login screen asking for your email address. Enter your full email address, including everything after the @ symbol.

Step 4. Enter your password.

Step 5. Click Log In.

That’s it. You’re now inside your inbox, ready to send and receive email.

A quick tip that saves time

Bookmark the page. In most browsers, press Ctrl+D on Windows or Cmd+D on Mac, then save. Next time you want to check your email, the login page is one click away instead of something you have to type out.

The first time you log in, Hostinger Mail may show you a short setup guide with options like adding a signature, uploading a profile photo, and adjusting notification preferences. You can complete these now or come back to them later.

Method 2: Hostinger Email on Your Phone (Gmail App)

If you want your business email buzzing in your pocket alongside your personal Gmail, the Gmail app on Android or iPhone is a solid choice. It’s the app you already know, and it now holds both inboxes in one place.

Important note for 2026: The Gmail app on your phone still works perfectly with Hostinger email. The Gmail website on your computer does not anymore. We’ll explain why in a later section, but for now, just know that the phone app is fine and the desktop website is not.

Setting up on the Gmail app (Android)

Step 1. Open the Gmail app on your phone. If you don’t have it, download it free from the Play Store.

Step 2. Tap your profile picture in the top right corner.

Step 3. Tap Add another account.

[SCREENSHOT: Gmail app account selection screen with “Add another account” option]

Step 4. On the list of email providers, scroll down and tap Other. Do not pick Gmail, Yahoo or any of the others.

Step 5. Enter your full Hostinger email address, then tap Next.

Step 6. Choose Personal (IMAP) when asked what type of account.

Step 7. Enter your password.

Step 8. On the incoming server screen, enter imap.hostinger.com. Leave the port as 993 if it asks, and make sure SSL is on.

Step 9. On the outgoing server screen, enter smtp.hostinger.com. The port should be 465 with SSL, or 587 with STARTTLS if your app gives you those options.

Step 10. Tap through the next few screens adjusting any preferences, such as how often the app checks for new mail.

Done. Your Hostinger email is now live in the Gmail app alongside your personal inbox.

Setting up on the Gmail app (iPhone)

The process is nearly identical. Open the Gmail app, tap your profile picture, tap Add another account, select Other, and follow the same steps above. iPhone users sometimes find it easier to just use Apple Mail instead, which we cover next.

Method 3: Hostinger Email on iPhone or iPad (Apple Mail)

If you’re an iPhone or iPad user, Apple Mail is the default email app that comes with your device. Many business owners prefer it because it’s built into the operating system, it syncs with the Calendar and Contacts apps, and it’s simpler than downloading a separate app.

Hostinger offers two ways to set this up. The easy way and the manual way.

The easy way: Apple auto configuration

Step 1. On your computer, log in to your Hostinger account at hpanel.hostinger.com.

Step 2. Go to Emails, find your email account, and click Manage.

Step 3. In the left sidebar, click Connect Apps and Devices.

Step 4. Under Apple auto configuration, click Set up Apple devices.

Step 5. Enter your display name (how you want your name to appear on outgoing emails) and confirm which email address to connect.

Step 6. A QR code will appear on screen.

[SCREENSHOT: Hostinger hPanel Apple auto configuration QR code screen]

Step 7. On your iPhone or iPad, open the Camera app and point it at the QR code. A notification will pop up asking if you want to download a configuration profile.

Step 8. Tap the notification, then go to Settings, where you’ll see an option to install the profile.

Step 9. Follow the prompts, enter your device passcode when asked, and confirm.

Your Hostinger email is now set up in Apple Mail automatically.

The manual way (if the QR code method doesn’t work)

Step 1. On your iPhone or iPad, go to Settings, then Mail, then Accounts.

Step 2. Tap Add Account, then tap Other, then Add Mail Account.

Step 3. Enter your name, full email address, password and a description (such as “Work Email”), then tap Next.

Step 4. Choose IMAP at the top of the next screen.

Step 5. Under Incoming Mail Server, enter:

  • Host Name: imap.hostinger.com
  • Username: your full email address
  • Password: your email password

Step 6. Under Outgoing Mail Server, enter:

  • Host Name: smtp.hostinger.com
  • Username: your full email address
  • Password: your email password

Step 7. Tap Next, then Save.

Done. Your email now appears in the Mail app on your iPhone or iPad.

Method 4: Hostinger Email on Outlook

Outlook is the go to email client for many businesses, especially those using Microsoft 365 or with teams used to the Microsoft ecosystem. There’s one important wrinkle you need to know about before starting.

The important Outlook warning: Microsoft released a new version of the Outlook app in 2025 that is gradually dropping support for connecting to third party email providers like Hostinger. If you’re using the “New Outlook” (the one with the toggle at the top saying “Try the new Outlook”), it may not work, or it may stop working at some point soon.

What to do: Use the classic version of Outlook instead. On Windows, you can switch by clicking the “New Outlook” toggle and turning it off. On Mac, go to Outlook in the menu bar and uncheck New Outlook. Then follow the steps below.

Setting up Hostinger email in classic Outlook

Step 1. Open Outlook on your computer.

Step 2. Click File in the top left, then click Add Account.

Step 3. Enter your full Hostinger email address and click Advanced options. Tick the box that says Let me set up my account manually.

Step 4. Click Connect, then choose IMAP.

[SCREENSHOT: Outlook IMAP setup screen showing server settings fields]

Step 5. Enter the following settings:

  • Incoming mail server: imap.hostinger.com
  • Incoming port: 993
  • Encryption method: SSL/TLS
  • Outgoing mail server: smtp.hostinger.com
  • Outgoing port: 465 (or 587 with STARTTLS)
  • Encryption method: SSL/TLS (or STARTTLS for port 587)

Step 6. Enter your password and click Connect.

Step 7. Outlook will test the connection. If everything is correct, you’ll see a success message and your inbox will start populating.

Done. Your Hostinger email is now in Outlook.

What Changed in 2026 (and Why It Matters)

If you’re reading older guides online and wondering why the instructions don’t match what you’re seeing on your screen, here’s why.

Gmail on desktop no longer works with Hostinger email. As of January 2026, Google removed the ability to connect third party email accounts like Hostinger to Gmail’s desktop and browser version. The feature that used to let you add an external email to Gmail (called Gmailify and POP) was discontinued. This means you can no longer log in to gmail.com in your browser and see your Hostinger emails alongside your personal Gmail.

What still works: The Gmail mobile app on Android and iPhone. It connects via IMAP, which is still fully supported on mobile. So if you want to use Gmail for your Hostinger email, use the phone app, not the website.

The new Outlook app is dropping IMAP support. Microsoft’s new version of Outlook (separate from the classic Outlook that’s been around for years) is gradually ending support for connecting to third party email providers. If your Outlook stops connecting one day, check whether you’re on the new Outlook and switch back to classic.

Webmail, Apple Mail, Thunderbird and classic Outlook all still work normally. These are the safest long term options.

Common Problems and How to Fix Them

If you’re stuck, the issue is almost always one of the following five.

1. Your username is wrong

The number one cause of login failures. You need to use your full email address as the username, not just the bit before the @ symbol. So yourname@yourbusiness.co.uk, not just yourname.

2. Your password is wrong

If you can’t remember your password, reset it at mail.hostinger.com using the Forgot Password link. After resetting, try logging in again on webmail first to confirm the new password works, before trying it in any other app.

3. Your email services are suspended

If Hostinger has suspended your email (usually for non payment or a policy issue), you won’t be able to log in anywhere. Check your Hostinger account dashboard at hpanel.hostinger.com for any notices. For official troubleshooting, see the Hostinger help centre.

4. You picked POP instead of IMAP

POP and IMAP are two different protocols for receiving email. POP downloads emails to one device and (by default) removes them from the server, which causes chaos if you check email on more than one device. Always choose IMAP when given the option. It syncs across all your devices properly.

5. Two factor authentication is blocking you

If you’ve turned on 2FA for your Hostinger account, some email apps won’t accept your normal password. You’ll need to create an app specific password inside your Hostinger account and use that instead when setting up the email app. This is a security feature, not a bug.

Keeping Your Email Secure

A few basic rules that protect your business email from the most common threats:

  • Use a strong password. Long, unique, mixed with numbers and symbols. Never reuse the password from another account.
  • Turn on two factor authentication (2FA). It adds a second layer of security so a stolen password alone isn’t enough for an attacker to get in.
  • Log out on shared or public devices. If you check email on someone else’s computer, log out properly before leaving.
  • Be cautious with attachments. If you receive an unexpected attachment, even from someone you know, verify before opening.
  • Review your account regularly. Once a quarter, check for any unknown logins or suspicious activity inside your Hostinger account.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I still add my Hostinger email to Gmail in 2026? Not on the desktop or browser version of Gmail. Google discontinued that feature in January 2026. You can still add Hostinger email to the Gmail mobile app on Android and iPhone, which uses IMAP and is fully supported.

What is the Hostinger webmail URL? The official webmail address is mail.hostinger.com. This is the fastest way to access your email with no setup required.

What are the Hostinger IMAP and SMTP settings? Incoming server: imap.hostinger.com on port 993 with SSL. Outgoing server: smtp.hostinger.com on port 465 with SSL, or 587 with STARTTLS. Use your full email address as the username.

Is Hostinger email secure? Yes. Hostinger uses SSL and TLS encryption for email, offers two factor authentication on the account, and includes spam protection as standard. Enable 2FA on your account for the best security.

Why can’t I log in to my Hostinger email? The most common reasons are using the wrong username (it needs to be your full email address), an incorrect password, your email service being disabled, or an email app configured with POP instead of IMAP. Start by trying to log in at mail.hostinger.com to rule out issues with the apps themselves.

Can I use Hostinger email with multiple devices at once? Yes, as long as you set up each device using IMAP (not POP). IMAP keeps your inbox synced across your phone, laptop and tablet, so reading an email on one device marks it as read on all the others.
